Most people spend 3.5 to 4 hours inside, and superfans easily stay 5 or more. There is no time limit once you are in. Add about an hour each way from central London, so the whole day is 6 to 8 hours; the coach packages run about 7.5 hours door to door with roughly four hours at the Studio. That is about 20 miles north-west of central London: 20 minutes by train from Euston to Watford Junction plus a 15-minute shuttle, or 45 to 90 minutes by road depending on traffic. See the map.

Yes. The electric shuttle from Watford Junction station to the Studio is free for visitors with a Studio Tour booking: show your confirmation to the driver. It runs at least every 30 minutes from about 9:20 AM and takes around 15 minutes. The coach packages skip it entirely and drop you at the door.

Aim to be at the Studio about 20 minutes before your entry time for security and bag checks. Your ticket is valid for a 30-minute timeslot, so you can walk in at any point within it. If you are travelling by train, allow for the shuttle queue on busy weekends.

You can enter any time during your 30-minute timeslot. If you will miss it, contact Studio Tour Visitor Services before your slot: late entry is at their discretion and is not guaranteed on busy days. On a coach package the risk sits at the London end instead, so find your departure point the day before.

Call the operator on the number in your voucher straight away. Coaches leave on time and a missed departure is usually non-refundable, but operators will often put you on a later coach if seats are free: one reviewer who missed her return bus was moved to the next one. The most common cause is not finding the meeting point, so check it on a map before the day.

Only in advance: no tickets are sold at the door. Entry-only tickets are sold on the official Studio Tour website (£58.50 adult, £47 child in 2026). Tickets with transport are sold by licensed partners, including the Viator packages on this page, which often still have space when the official site is sold out.

Your ticket covers the whole self-guided tour: the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office and the other Hogwarts sets, the Forbidden Forest, Platform 9 3/4 with the real Hogwarts Express, the outdoor Backlot, Diagon Alley, Gringotts bank, the creature workshop and the giant Hogwarts castle model. It is mostly indoors in two huge soundstages, which are heated but cavernous, so they can feel cool in winter. The Forbidden Forest is dim and misty, and the Backlot (Privet Drive, the Knight Bus) is outdoors. Bring a layer you can carry, and comfortable shoes: you walk about 2 miles.

They are different things. London is the real film studio: original sets, props and costumes, and how the films were made. Orlando (and Hollywood and Japan) are theme parks with rides and walk-in shops. Fans of the films get the most from London; families after thrills get more from the parks.
